We love this place. It's nice to have a breakfast place nearby that isn't smothering everything they serve in grease. The selection is great and the food and service have never been a disappointment. The coffee and orange juice are always fresh. I highly recommend this restaurant. The price is very reasonable, as well. As a side note, if you're looking for lots of super greasy breakfast food, then this isn't the restaurant for you. This food is very fresh, and has a Colorado flair to it.

Denny's of Colorado Springs but not as white-trashy :P Food was alright and so was their service. Probably the worst eggs benedict I ever had but then again, it's Colorado Springs. What can I expect?
(3)Brad S.
Back in the day I used to come to Egg and I every Sunday, order a pot of coffee and the Hiker's Benedict - eggs Benedict with portabello mushrooms, tomatoes, asparagus, and ham. Seeing as how the place got pretty busy on Sunday mornings, the quality of the hollandaise was hit or mess, but I was always satisfied as I left. The friendly staff didn't hurt, either. With Egg and I originating in Fort Collins, this is about as close as you'll get to a local place without venturing into the downtown area. It's far from the best, but it's pretty good.
(4)Sophia M.
Consistently good breakfast! I've never had anything there that didn't have eggs, so I can't speak to their lunch menu, but breakfast/brunch is as good as it gets for a chain restaurant. Will never go back to a Denny's! They're always great about substitutions (turkey sausage, dill hollandaise) and their kids menu has a pretty good selection. The service is always prompt and friendly, kids eat free, and they have military and senior discounts.

I have been to the Egg and I a few times. The food is always good and I enjoy the coffee because of it's good flavors. Particularly lately I have ordered the Pumpkin pecan waffle eggspress special which is particularly delicious The service is also usually good as well as they nice and generally attentive.

Just moved to the area yesterday and this is my first stop! I got the Hiker's Benedict and it was amazing! My server Michaela was a sweetheart. Overall great experience!

Is there a negative star rating? Hey..I'm a huge fan of breakfast, brunch and of course brinner. One of my tried and true ways to gauge if a place is spot on is to try the gravy and the green chile. Staples at any Colorado breakfast eatery worth their salt...speaking of salt. ..I have passed the Egg and I numerous times wanting to try it and today was the day..no wait at peak breakfast time so that was cool..but I should have taken that as a sign..was sat at a little table and decided on the biscuits and gravy. .testing my theory...it comes with your choice of eggs and what the server described as "ranch style" potatoes. Sounds good enough..when my food came out I was not overjoyed with my normal breakfast enthusiasm. ..for alas...the gravy was clumpy and greasy and separated from itself...the potatoes, described as "really good and fresh" by my server looked more like lone little dried out pieces of cardboard. And the eggs...well..how hard is it to scramble an egg? The gravy was salty, no real other flavor and the biscuits were gooey and under cooked. My little pieces of cardboard. .er..potatoes resembled neither home fries nor fresh...nor well...hot..they were bland and cold in the center and tasted mildly like refrigerator . I would have sent it back but the server never came to ask how my food was..simply cruised by to put my check on the table while I was in mid choke of chewing my cardboard. .er..sorry..potatoes. very disappointed. ..when I was at the front counter paying my bill the cashier asked how was your meal..did I have the energy to tell her after spending the whole 45 minutes of my visit breaking my teeth on the bland potatoes? ?? I stated that it was salty and the potatoes were cold in the center. .her reply? Oh..hmmm..ya we will check on that...Ya.....Right...
(1)Stephanie O.
I would highly recommend getting the Parisian Benedict. It has a croissant instead of an english muffin for the base and I love that they put a lemon slice on top to add a little bit of freshness. It's the little things! The portions are just big enough that you don't feel guilty finishing the entire plate but are satisfied. Overall, a great little establishment with friendly staff with thoughtful execution.
(5)Danielle S.
Great breakfast place. Both locations are good food and friendly staff. I know I am getting a good breakfast when I go here.
(5)Randy N.
Well priced food and a nice menu with a few twists on traditional classics . I had the biscuits and gravy with sausage potatoes and eggs. Mmmmm loved it. I had great service and a perfectly cooked meal. Thanks!!!
(5)Wendy G.
Best breakfast ever!!!! Menu has awesome choices, very fresh and healthy, too!! Similar to First Watch (better, though!) Ordered omelet to order with green chili sauce...perfect!! Kudos to Michaela for fabulous service!!!
(5)Renzieren D.
Mmm....Belgian Waffles! Pretty neat place :). Finally had a decent breakfast. Place was really nice and comfortable. The serves and workers we're really nice and helpful so really enjoyed my meal today. Thank you for the good service!
(3)Kat W.
I enjoyed my meal very much! While on the way we called to see how long the wait would be and they went ahead and put us on the list! Joyce and the entire staff were very friendly and attentive! When you order coffee you get a carafe which is so nice. We also were brought a carafe of water. I ordered the Cambridge special and it was delicious! I also sampled others French toast and biscuits and gravy and all were top notch! Great breakfast in the Springs!
(4)James W.
Even though it's a chain, has a quaint, country cottage feel. The santa fe huevos is magic: a big toasted tortilla covered with black beans, cheese, two eggs and smothered with pork green chili. The eggs are always perfectly cooked without drowning in butter. Also comes with a big plate of homestyle potatoes. Add some dashes of their homemade "Eggs and A-yi-yi-yi" hot sauce, delicious! The biscuits and gravy are top notch. I'm not usually a big fan of the dish, but this place has large chunks of sausage, and it gets devoured pretty fast. Don't usually go for the sweeter stuff (pancakes, belgian waffles), but it's solid -- no frills. For people who like lighter fare, the raspberry granola pancakes are very good... you'll have enough for seconds cause it's bigger than my face.
(5)Andrew K.
I just moved here from California to Colorado Springs. My fiancee and I wanted to go out for an early valentines day dinner. We looked online for good reviewed restaurants and found "The Egg and I". Our waitress was fantastic and Steve, the manager, comped our coffee because we were new residents and never had been there. The meal was amazing, I highly recommend the Raspberry pancakes. The restaurant was clean and organized and everyone made you feel taken care of even with a line. There was an issue with our food but Steve, being the nice guy he is, comped part of our meal to satisfy us. Never have I been to a restaurant where I felt genuinely cared about in all aspects. Everyone was friendly and inviting which is why I'm giving it a great 5 star review. If you're looking for a great price ($20 about for two people without comping) and great service as well as food, the Egg and I is the place to go.
(5)Brian K.
Awesome place, awesome people. Ask for Ryan for a great experience. Also, get the Blueberry pancake with extra compote!
(5)Chris G.
In the need of a reasonably priced breakfast or lunch? Want it to be tasty and plentiful at the same time? You've found the right place. The service was attentive as well.
(3)Adam P.
Stopped in for an impromptu breakfast Saturday morning. The staff was bright eyed and bushy tailed, I was not. I had one of their signaute skillets and a pour of the rain forrest bold coffee. All was good but nothing to write home about. I've always heard great things about the Egg & I but honestly if I was blinded folded I would have sworn I was eating at a Village Inn. Three starts and an A-OK is pretty fitting.
(3)Momma B.
Been here a few times. This last was the worst of them all. I ordered the Crab Cake Benedict. The crab cakes were very fishy tasting. If you eat fish you should know that if it tastes really fishy it probably isn't fresh. The cakes also did not hold together well, no crunch, just mush. The tomato was too soft and the hollandaise sauce was cold. Some of my potatoes were burnt as well. I am not sure I would go back to this place. I think it is overrated for sure. I enjoyed my meal at Cracker Barrel a few weeks later a lot more.
(2)Robert R.
Went here on a quiet tuesday morning, a far cry from the weekend craziness. It was a nice change of pace. Server was very friendly and prompt. We probably only had to wait about 5 minutes after we ordered to get our food. They didn't rush us (there wasnt like there was a line), but were still attentive and make sure our coffee stayed filled/hot.
(4)Mia D.
Went there for breakfast. The food was good, nothing special, and the price was great. Standard casual diner ambiance/menu. The server for our table of two wasn't very attentive, and we had to call her down to get our order in after she left us for a while. We also had to get her attention for water, and only my family member got water. I did appreciate having the coffee carafe on the table with us, though, I've never had that before at a diner. Maybe we got a trainee server or it was just an off day? The front register folks were nice and I'll probably stop back again when I'm in town again since it's so convenient. I know some of the cadets at USAFA like this place. I'll give it another try when I'm back in town.
(2)Debbie B.
This has become one of our go to places. Their waffles, pancakes and potatoes stand out among the rest for taste and texture. Their price is fair for the quality of food you get. Plus their pancakes and waffles are huge! And we've always had good service.
(5)Luis N.
So... I found nothing wrong with this place. At all. We came for breakfast on a Tuesday morning and got sat immediately. We ordered food for 4 people. I had the Mexican skillet which ended up being gigantic and delicious. Ended up being too big but either way. My wife was ecstatic since the waitress brought her a carafe of diet coke without asking...and my wife drinks a lot of soda with her meals (I know, it's terrible lol) All members of the party were happy and I believe we paid $24-28 a couple. Which isn't bad. The bathrooms are clean by the way. We may come back eventually but it's a nice place to try.
(4)Mike A.
This is a great breakfast/lunch restaurant. It is a little bit pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for. Quick service. Good food. And the waitress left two pots of coffee at our table! I will definitely go here again! 5 stars!
(5)Van B.
I was very impressed at how friendly everyone was :) it was very refreshing being here. I really liked that when we walked in the conversation was over the supernatural and angelic protection over planes. Jesus is so good and I love anywhere His name is lifted up. There was a nice ease of His Spirit at this place and I really feel like He wants to take this place even deeper into His goodness! I really loved it!
(5)Sam A.
Great service...goof food and lots of coffee. Much better than other choices. Clean location with carung staff.
(4)Sandy N.
Really friendly service here. They have a variety of coffees to choose from and even bring the table its own carafe. Our group of 3 called before coming and were able to make a reservation during the busy Sunday brunch time. The French toast was tasty and the bacon cooked perfectly!
(4)J M.
Friendly customer service from entering the restaurant to leaving. The "call ahead" waiting list is such a bonus. You'll find good-standard breakfast food here and staff that are eager to please.
(4)R C.
Good food but bacon was cold. Couldn't give 5 stars this time but I'm sure I'll be back.
(4)Christina S.
The server was was of the nicest servers I think I've ever run into! The food came out fast and had no real complaints... although I don't really understand all the hype about the coffee... It's really not very hype worthy. Honestly my favorite part about my breakfast here this morning was the lighting. I know that sounds super odd, but really the lighting was just fantastic! :0)
(4)George L.
I've eaten at this particular Egg & I three times now. The first two I didn't think to leave a review...my fault for not doing that! Today I'm having the Athena Scramble with bacon and potatoes. Not my normal breakfast but it's always good to try new things. The choice of different coffee brews is a nice touch as you can get tired of the same regular roast that most establishment tend to sell. Hazelnut is today's flavor of choice, the sent is strong but the flavor is quite mild for being a flavored coffee. The service was great and very attentive. Only thing that kept it from 5 of 5 is the amount of "butter/grease" on most of the food.
(4)Action J.
Excellent food and service. Atmosphere is good, like a diner. A bit pricey buy you get what you pay for. Excellent for breakfast meetings and lunch. Four Stars. Psssst... get the eggs benedict! Best in town on the north side.
(4)Kelly M.
Potatoes are probably frozen, I asked if they came with onion and if so could I get them with out and they replied no and I was told I couldn't substitue.
(2)Susan H.
Went here a couple weeks ago for the first time & had an awesome experience. Valentine was my waitress & she was the happiest person I think I've ever met; such a sweetheart. Plus the food was amazing! Will DEFINITELY be going back.
(5)Kevin F.
Laid back place. Standard breakfast fare that is prepared well. Coffee carafes at the table are a nice touch. Good service and value. I'll keep this place in my rotation of great breakfast places.
(4)Lincoln D.
My wife and I have been to this location approximately ten times. We have never had better service, egg dishes, coffee anywhere!!! We make this our breakfast stop while in Springs or before going north to Castle Rock or Denver. Will recommend to any that wants to know
(5)John B.
The Egg and I, a classic locally owned breakfast stop. The coffee perfect, the staff was right on the top of their game. My meal was very much acceptable on my crazy breakfast expectation scale. Would defiantly return for another meal. The locals a the key to the magic, the friendly family and business crowd are easily accommodated in this great little spot I found. Thank you,
(4)Laurie H.
We had breakfast here about 2 weeks ago. The food and service were exceptionally good. It was probably one of the most enjoyable breakfasts we have ever had.
(5)Tiffani S.
The food was alight. I order the French toast and wasn't nothing special about it. I thought it was pretty pricy for their quality of food. The service wasn't that great, and they weren't even busy. I don't think I would go back.
(2)Elizabeth G.
This restaurant provides great, friendly service. I love that they give you a whole pot of coffee to enjoy and pour for yourself throughout breakfast! Also, their breakfast potatoes are some of the best I've ever had. However, there are two things that prevent me from frequenting the restaurant: 1) The prices seem a little on the high side, and 2) My husband and I always leave a little hungry. The portions could use a big boost, especially for the prices.
(3)Cory J.
Excellent! Came on spur of the moment at 1:45 as rhey were about to close--no problem. I was expecting sevice to suffer because I arrived so close to clsing but it didn't. Service was excellent. Omlette and a side of sausage patties was excellent. Quality ingredients! Fluffy omlette and quality sausage (no snouts and hooves ground up in these sausage patties). Didn't want bread/ toast which seems to throw a server off for some reason--not here. Server immediately gave me 3 other substitutes. I'll be back.
(5)Brett G.
I was quite pleased eating here. This is certainly a step up from the cheesier diners I was expecting (Gunther Toody's, Village Inn, Denny's...). A warm atmosphere and friendly staff greeted us as we arrived. We dined at 9:00am on a Thursday and they were busy. We didn't have to wait for a table but there were many other patrons there and there were more occupied seats than empty. That is impressive for a breakfast place at 9am to me. The food was good, I ordered a waffle breakfast plate (eggs and bacon and waffle). The bacon was good. I was pleased to be able to eat all of my bacon pieces. There was no large flap of fat I had to chew around. The eggs on the other hand were a bit disappointing. I ordered scrambled eggs and they showed up scrambled easy. That is, they were pretty, shall we say, juicy? A bit too soft and runny for my tastes. This was probably due to the kitchen trying to rush the orders out. The service was wonderful. I like when I don't notice the server. Not that they are invisible to me, or that I'm above them and don't want to be bothered by them. Jeeze, I hate those types of customers, I used to be a server myself and I've dealt with those. Why would you go out to eat and force yourself to interact with us if you despise talking to us you jerk customers! Sorry, rant. Service. That's right. It was good. The guy didn't keep us waiting and proactively waited on us and the table. That is what I mean. We wern't held hostage to pay, waiting ages for our drinks or food. He had what we needed before we needed it and that is a great thing!
(4)Jillian B.
The food was great. I really enjoyed the Parisian Benedict. The service is a little bit on the slow side, but I would still go back.
(4)Heather P.
Service: I've been to this location a few times and service is always good, not noticeably great, but good. Although now that i think about it, the hostesses always seem to be uber nice. Atmosphere: Homey diner feel, I like it. Although the line is always out the door, the restaurant didn't try to pack as many tables in as possible. Food: I always order the MBA frittata. I love it, try it, end of story. I'm also a fan of the stuffed french toast. You really can't go wrong here, and like the name hints the eggs are GREAT. Go again? I always think of this place first when I think of a solid breakfast in the Springs. So, YES.
(4)Diane Kholos W.
So great. Wonderful service and food. Thanks for supporting the American Widow Project.
(5)Bruce D.
Coffee served from plastic carafe, not a good start. Coffee served that way is seldom fresh and tastes like plastic. Then you have choice between "ranch potatoes" or grits. No choice if you ask me. I just want plain potatoes...not available. OK, bring me some of your coffee poured directly into a mug. The waitress accommodated, but alas, flat tasting, no character, oh well, strike 3,won't be back.
(2)Jay J.
These guys know breakfast. Quality ingredients, great coffee (fair trade, too), and friendly unobtrusive service (but not servile). That explains the many pairs and groups meeting here this morning.
(5)Amy L.
I was visiting Colorado Springs this weekend and decided to try this restaurant out for breakfast. I'm from CT and the service there was nothing like service in ct. Our waitress was genuinely friendly and was asking us what were going to do today and had a conversation with us. The food was phenomenal. Both times I got the raisin bread French toast and it was the best breakfast I ate in a while. My friend ordered an omelette and the second time the stuffed French toast and he also said it was the best breakfast he had. The second time we went back the waitresses remembered us and asked if we made it to the top of pikes peak. If I go back to Colorado Springs I will deff make it a point to stop there.
(5)Tressa M.
Great breakfast place for the weekend. Came in Saturday around 830am, was greeted right away and sat immediately. The Heuvos Ranchero and Parisian Benedict were incredible, hearty portions! You pay for your quality here in food and service! All was wonderful! They also have free wifi and free meeting room :)
(5)Tyana G.
Walking in, the atmosphere screams chain restaurant but don't be deceived because it's a great place to eat. A hostess happily greets us and seats us immediately. Our server was excellent, she was fast, attentive, and nice. I ordered the corn beef hash and coffee. The hazelnut coffee is so good! And it's a plus that they serve it iced. The corn beef hash has more has than corn beef but it was still very flavorful, good seasoning. Also, their house hot sauce is delicious
(4)Barry L.
The family and I stopped here on a pass through. Hostess & wait staff was first class. We had traditional style eggs, eggs benedict and the corned beef hash & eggs. Plating was nice and all was tasteful. No disappointments here.
(5)Brittany C.
If you haven't been here, you must go. The best breakfast I've ever had. The best French Toast I've ever eaten (sorry mom). I always get a scramble. Love the potatoes, and fun ingredients like asparagus and feta. Great service every time !!!
(5)Matt K.
Really good food. Amazing sauce. Great prices and great service. I ordered spinach, mushroom and bacon omelet, and I was pleasantly surprised how good it was. You can't go wrong with this place.
(4)Meghan E.
Horrible. The eggs are fake. If your restaurant has egg in the name shouldn't the eggs be real? The price for the food was way too expensive. I will never visit another egg&i. The only plus was the military discount.
(2)Kelley S.
The server was excellent - she was very pleasant and really fast to re-fill our drinks, etc. The food was also really good. We had a great experience and will definitely be back!
(5)Sarah C.
I love the Egg & I, but don't have one even remotely close to where I live, so it is a nice treat any time I am in Colorado for work and can finally have my breakfast perfection! Thank you, Kristen and Allan! First of all, the employees- especially at this location- could honestly not be more cheerful and happy if they tried! Not in an off-putting sort of way. Just really warm and welcoming! Service is also extremely quick!!! I tried the Egg Byte Omelet with egg whites and veggies because I have not been so good lately and really needed to order off the healthy section of the menu! It came with salsa, an English muffin and fruit! For a "healthy" breakfast, it was very good- fresh, lots of flavor going on and did not feel heavy! Would absolutely order this again! Across the table, my friends ordered the Waffle Eggspress (waffle plus eggs and bacon) with an extra waffle on the side and Cambridge Skillet with an English muffin. They were equally as enamored with their food as I was with mine! Breakfast Love!! Other things I've tried and loved: Veggie Benedict, Greek Frittata, Huevos Rancheros, The Patriot Waffle and Stuffed French Toast. Everything is consistently good!! I thought the prices were a touch high- my small orange juice and omelet, the waffles, scramble and 2 cups of coffee came in just over $40, which seems like a lot for breakfast.
(4)David G.
A solid three stars. A good place for a Sunday family breakfast. I had one of the skillets which had ranch potatoes, bacon, cheese, and two eggs over easy. Our waitress was really great and she informed us that kids eat free. Pretty cool. All in all, quite a few steps up from Denny's, and when we come back to the 719, we will definitely hit up this place.
(3)Jyenny B.
I'm always on the lookout for an interesting take on eggs benedict and this place delivered. The crab cake eggs benedict is pretty good. The crab cakes were flaky and not greasy, topped with a thick slice of tomato, a poached egg and drenched in hollandaise sauce. An english muffin and country potatoes were served on the side, but were nothing to write home about. This hearty breakfast won't break the bank and will keep you full all day. The service was fast and friendly.
(4)Sabu S.
I love this place!! Always great service and AMAZING food and awesome staff! I don't live that close (maybe that's a good thing) but always have to stop when I'm in Colorado Springs. I beg people to go eat there with me. The coffee is amazing and always fresh. The food is always good and tasty. Ladies, I've always had very attractive servers that will go the extra mile to make sure you are happy!
(5)Jack N.
I returned here after a two year absence by having breakfast here two weeks in a row. The first week, I was with three out of town guests. I had poched eggs with English muffin which was good. But one of my attendees had to send her Eggs Benedict back twice because the eggs were undercooked. Second time back this week, and I experience the same thing with my Eggs Benedict. Quality is there but so is the price. This is your $14 place for breakfast if that is what you are looking for. However, you should try something other than something that could be cooked marginally. Friendly staff, but music is too loud for my taste.
(2)Kelsey B.

All was good but nothing to write home about. I've always heard great things about the Egg & I but honestly if I was blinded folded I would have sworn I was eating at a Village Inn. Three starts and an A-OK is pretty fitting.

(2)Mia D.

(2)Brett G.
(5)Elizabeth G.
(5)Russ R.
(5)Ernie K.
(4)Hunter M.
I have been to the Egg and I a few times. The food is always good and I enjoy the coffee because of it's good flavors. Particularly lately I have ordered the Pumpkin pecan waffle eggspress special which is particularly delicious The service is also usually good as well as they nice and generally attentive.
(4)Jack N.
(2)Kitty R.
Great Breakfast joint! Eggs were light and fluffy. Ranch Potatoes were a nice side dish with great flavor. Husband had French toast that was well cooked with great flavor. Will definitely eat here again.
(4)Sarah C.
(5)Sophia M.
(4)Sibby S.
Ambiance: Sort of your typical coffee shop Establishment, though this place is on the small size, with the tables very close to one another (a little too cramped for my taste.) Service: Sincerely friendly. Service is quick and attentive. Food: Just a step above Denny's and I-Hop. I was disappointed in my last visit. Ordered the Eggs Benedict. Now, I don't like my Benedict swimming in Holandaise sauce, but my order came with just a drizzle over the eggs. Could barely taste it. Also, the Benedict came with thick slices of Ham, rather than the Canadian Bacon that it should (and they advertise this as their "classic eggs Benedict"!!) The home fries are tasty, but the portion is rather small. I do like the fact that when you order coffee, they also deliver a thermos-style carafe to your table for help-yourself refills. Overall, I can live with this place if I'm in the neighborhood (though a better option would be the La Baguette, which you could walk to from The Egg and I.) Definitely not the type of establishment that you wake up yearning for on a weekend morning. More utilitarian than anything.
(3)Mo C.
Cute and inexpensive spot for brunch! Went with 3 friends and the entire bill was under $40! Had the Corned Beef Hash and it was a little dry. The holandaise sauce that comes on the side (for some reason) helps with the dryness of the dish. Our waitress was super nice and friendly. She offered us 4 different kinds of coffee. I would advise against the Dark Roast or Rich Roast or whatever it was (really really bitter and obviously not very popular, since it tasted like it had been sitting on the warmer for quite a while).
(4)Jacob L.
I have only been once, but I have this tentatively slotted as my second favorite breakfast restaurant. This is not a $ restaurant, it would be hard to eat here for under $10. Ambiance: Typical breakfast joint, Probably closest to IHOP. Service: Okay. They advertised kids eat free on Sundays. Took the whole crew. When I got the bill all of the kids meals were on there full price. I asked them about it when I paid and they took two of the four kids meals off the ticket and told me they only give the discount if it is asked for, and they only give 1 kids meal per adult meal. It was advertised 2 for 1. He said the other location takes it off automatically and they are probably the ones doing 2 for 1. Food: Parisian Benedict, B&G, assorted kids meals Parisian Benedict- This was fantastic, one of the best variations of eggs benedict I have ever had. I think the croissant is the way to go on this dish. I'll probably subbing it in when possible at other joints. The fried potatoes were good not great. B&G- Pretty sure the biscuits were frozen and I think I recognized the gravy as a frozen variety as well. They definitely tasted more like the biscuits and gravy I used to sell to hotels than what you would expect in a restaurant, especially at these prices. Kids meals- Solid, I don't expect much from kids meals, they are generally an after thought for most restaurants, as they should be. Although I would have considered them fantastic if they were free! We will probably try the other location
(3)Sarah P.
For a restaurant with such a catchy name you'd think they would have the sense to create a better ambiance. It was like they set up shop, through down some booths and tables and opened the doors. The food was good. I got eggs and bacon with a MONSTER, blueberry and granola pancake. VERY YUMMY! But seriously, do something about the decore.
(3)Eric L.
not that good support something local instead also academy is a pain to get onto during the workday lunch time

This is a pretty good place for breakfast. They have a decent sized menu with lots of eggs and carbs. I got biscuits with gravy and my bf got the Mediterranean scramble. We were both pretty happy with it. My dish came with a biscuit with sausage gravy, 2 eggs and potatoes. The potatoes were nice with little bits of caramelized onion in. The eggs I just got scrambled with cheese, the way I always get my eggs. Yom. The bf's omelette thing came with feta, mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes, artichoke hearts, spinach and red onions with a balsamic vinegar dressing, and potatoes on the side. I don't really understand the dressing but my bf liked it. Oh, and his came with an english muffin. They have different choices for jelly at the table. The iced tea was good (they bring you a carafe so you don't have to continually ask for refills), as was the coffee (same with the carafe). I regret not asking for sour cream for the potatoes, that would have rocked. Oh well. I don't see any desserts on the menu so that's a sadness. It's mostly a breakfast place but they also serve soup, sandwiches and salad. I would eat here again but it isn't a destination joint like the Waffle House or anything, just good breakfast stuff. Oh, bonus points for being open on Easter Sunday.
(3)Ruth B.
As I've said before in my reviews, our family loves to go out for breakfast. So on our week in Colorado, we ate out at many breakfast places. This was the one we liked the least. My husband got a croissant sandwich, and the croissant tasted like white bread, completely lacking in the flakiness a good croissant should have. I got the corned beef hash with egg, and the hash was undercooked so it lacked the crispiness a good hash should have. The kids pancakes were fine, but nothing special. The coffee was not very good. The service was very good and friendly, so that earns it 2 stars instead of 1.

What a great little place to go for breakfast - or lunch. I met a friend here almost every Thursday for the last six months we lived in town this year. They have great oatmeal with fruit and also a wide variety sandwiches - my husband is a big fan of their BLTs. I'm not usually a one dish wonder at restaurants - I like to mix it up - but 9 out of 10 times I ordered the Wisconsin Scramble. Eggs with 4 kinds of cheese mixed in - it was a little cloud from heaven. Also - they have great Iced Tea..with free refills and will even give you a filled up to go cup for the road.
(4)Phil W.
First, being from out of town I didn't realize this was a chain restaurant. We went on a Saturday morning expecting a bit of a wait, but fortunately it was only about 10 minutes, totally acceptable. The disappointment was in was in two forms. One, being only slightly busy, the service and time waiting for food was very slow. We waited for over 15 minutes after ordering to get an omellette and french toast. The major disappointment was in the food. I ordered an omellete with bacon and cheddar cheese. I specifically requested the bacon be crisp, I really detest undercooked bacon. When the waitress delivered our food she told me the cook told her the bacon might not be crisp because it was inside an omelette. About 90% of the bacon still had a very light pink color to it, obviously undercooked for my preference. The other 10% was crisp. Checkout is done at the front desk and when the lady asked if everything was ok I explained the situation. A manager nearby overheard our conversation and expressed his apologizes. He also stated it is possible to have crisp bacon in an omellette, which I already knew. I thought since this place specializes in breakfast they would do much better. My guess is they already had a batch of bacon cooked and didn't want to take the time to accomodate my request.

(2)Jay J.
These guys know breakfast. Quality ingredients, great coffee (fair trade, too), and friendly unobtrusive service (but not servile). That explains the many pairs and groups meeting here this morning.
(5)Kelsey B.
Just moved to the area yesterday and this is my first stop! I got the Hiker's Benedict and it was amazing! My server Michaela was a sweetheart. Overall great experience!
(5)Kat W.
(4)Robert R.

(3)James W.

(2)Mia D.
(4)Brett G.
(2)Amy L.
(5)Elizabeth G.
(5)Russ R.
(5)Ernie K.
(4)Sarah C.
(3)Jacob L.
(3)Jack N.
(2)Kitty R.
Great Breakfast joint! Eggs were light and fluffy. Ranch Potatoes were a nice side dish with great flavor. Husband had French toast that was well cooked with great flavor. Will definitely eat here again.
(4)Sarah P.
(3)Eric L.
not that good support something local instead also academy is a pain to get onto during the workday lunch time
(2)Kim K.
(2)C T.
We visited The Egg and I while on vacation in Colorado Springs. We dined on a Wednesday at about 10:30 and the place had diners, but wasn't overly busy. Our waitress was very friendly and efficient. I had the eggs benedict and my bf had an egg scramble. It was really pretty good! My eggs were very fluffy and the hollandaise sauce was yummy. One thing I like is a breakfast place that brings you the whole pot of coffee for your table and we got that here. We'll be back again.
(4)Ami C.

Will recommend to any that wants to know
(5)Action J.
(2)Jyenny B.
(5)Sibby S.

The family and I stopped here on a pass through. Hostess & wait staff was first class. We had traditional style eggs, eggs benedict and the corned beef hash & eggs. Plating was nice and all was tasteful. No disappointments here.

If you haven't been here, you must go. The best breakfast I've ever had. The best French Toast I've ever eaten (sorry mom). I always get a scramble. Love the potatoes, and fun ingredients like asparagus and feta. Great service every time !!!

Really good food. Amazing sauce. Great prices and great service. I ordered spinach, mushroom and bacon omelet, and I was pleasantly surprised how good it was. You can't go wrong with this place.

Horrible. The eggs are fake. If your restaurant has egg in the name shouldn't the eggs be real? The price for the food was way too expensive. I will never visit another egg&i. The only plus was the military discount.

The server was excellent - she was very pleasant and really fast to re-fill our drinks, etc. The food was also really good. We had a great experience and will definitely be back!
